I’ve been arranging mortgages for nearly 20 years. And over that time I have built up my own panel of favourite conveyancing solicitors, ones that I trust to get the job done. Ones that don’t sit on paperwork, because they are too busy doing other things.

Of course they are totally independent of me, they are impartial. But if I come across a solicitor who I think has done well for my client,I will add them to my little group of tried and trusted solicitors.

I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to have to chase solicitors and if I ever have to chase a solicitor more than twice, then I will never recommend him/her to my clients. Because we work hard to get the ball rolling and keep it rolling.

So think twice about who your solicitor will be, take a recommendation, but don’t always take the word of the estate agent who you are buying or selling your property through.
